  • Computational analysis of microbial genome sequences with a view to study.
    • Trends and anomalies in nucleotide/amino acid usage patterns in eubacteria, archaea and viruses.
    • Codon adaptation in extremophiles.
    • Evolution of bacterial pathogenesis through gene loss/acquisition.
  • In silico characterization of the selection forces governing protein composition in human.
  • Clustering of protein families & taxonomic distribution of domains.
  • Development of novel software tools or algorithms for genome / proteome analysis.
