Current Research Interest
-
Role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in gastric ulcers induced by stress, alcohol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and infection by Helicobacter pylori. To study the effect of potential mediators like cytokines, growth factors and transcription factors for infectivity by H. pylori.
-
Ploymorphism in the promoter regions of MMPs and risk of gastric cancers.
-
Biochemical mechanism of gastric inflammation and its healing by bioactive lead molecule in regard to MMPs regulation. Effect of curcumin and melatonin in angiogenesis, collagen synthesis and apoptosis during wound healing.
-
Role of MMPs, growth factors, receptors and cell adhesion molecules in gastric cancer, alcohol-induced liver damage, diabetes and endometriosis.
