  1. Structural studies of O-antigenic polysaccharides of pathogenic bacteria with special reference to Vibrios.
  2. Structural studies on biologically important glycoproteins, glycolipids etc.
  3. Glycomics.
  4. Synthesis of biologically important oligosaccharides (haptens) and their protein conjugates.
  5. Value addition to natural gums and fibres.
  6. Natural products (polysaccharides) as possible drugs
